Planning a Golf Glove Launch: When Should a Brand Start Sampling?

Plan a golf glove launch around sample making, revisions, approvals, production and shipping, using Texpak's usual lead times as a starting point.

At Texpak, initial sample production usually takes one to two weeks. Sample delivery is commonly around three to five days, depending on the courier. Bulk production typically takes four to six weeks, with the production lead time starting when the agreed advance payment is received.

Those stages should not be compressed into a single delivery promise. Your launch plan also needs time for design decisions, sample feedback, any revisions, final specifications and bulk shipping. Agree the schedule for the actual project before announcing a date to customers.

Start by defining the date you need to meet

Decide whether your deadline means factory completion, dispatch, arrival at your business or stock ready for customer orders. Each is a different milestone.

For example, a factory completion date does not include the subsequent shipping stage. Likewise, receiving a first sample is the beginning of your physical review, rather than automatic approval for production.

Tell us the milestone you need and where the goods will go. We can then discuss the work and delivery arrangement that sit before it.

Stage one: develop a brief that can be sampled

Sampling can move more efficiently when the design, material direction, colours, fit and artwork are defined. If the design is still abstract, allow time to develop it.

We can help prepare a tech pack or confirm specifications through email. Working without a complete tech pack is possible, but unresolved decisions lead to more discussion and may extend development.

Use our tech-pack and sampling checklist to separate approved details from choices still needing advice.

Stage two: make and deliver the first sample

Our usual one-to-two-week sample estimate covers making the sample. Delivery is a separate stage, commonly around three to five days depending on the courier.

Texpak offers sample making and prototyping without a sample-making charge, with the customer paying shipping. FedEx and DHL are the couriers we use most often.

The quoted transit time is an estimate for the chosen shipment. Confirm it for the destination and service rather than treating a general website range as a guaranteed arrival date.

Stage three: review and revise

A revision can take a similar amount of time to the initial sampling, depending on its complexity. It may also involve another shipment and review.

Different changes affect different stages:

Provide measurements and marked photographs when requesting a correction. A physical reference glove whose fit you like can be especially helpful.

Stage four: finalise the production specification

Before bulk production, the design, leather grade, printing options and packaging need to be settled. The fit and any other agreed product details should match the approved reference as well.

Our usual four-to-six-week production lead time begins when we receive the agreed advance payment. Confirm the production schedule once the order is ready; if approvals or specifications are still open, they also need resolving before the work can proceed as intended.

In our production process, leather preparation is the longest material stage, followed by printing. A late request to change either can therefore affect the schedule beyond the time spent sending new artwork or choosing another colour.

Stage five: allow for shipping and holiday periods

Discuss bulk delivery separately from production. Texpak can arrange shipping or work with a customer's own arrangement. The packaging and transport choice should be known before estimating the complete timeline.

Also confirm the factory's closure dates around Pakistan's two Eid holiday periods. Ask for the applicable dates for the year of your order rather than rely on an old launch calendar.

Build the calendar around decisions, not just weeks

A workable schedule records who will approve the first sample, how feedback will be collected and when the final order details are due. Leave room for a revision if the first sample reveals a change worth making.

Share your proposed launch date with Texpak. We can discuss a project schedule that includes development, production and the delivery milestone your brand needs.
